Ramp Builder Worksheet
A one-page tool for getting started you can print or fill in on screen. You know what to do. Here's how to start.
How to use it
Use this page to build a ramp for the task you chose in Chapter 1. Copy the finished ramp onto a card and put it where the task lives.
What's on the page
- Task (what “done” looks like)
- Step Zero (almost too easy to skip)
- The top of the ramp is step number
- Where I'll keep my ramp card
- When I walked it, I got as far as step
Plus a checklist, including:
- The task sentence is about one task (no “and”).
- Step Zero takes seconds and needs no decisions.
- Step Zero passes the Silly Test.
- Steps that need a decision or information come later, not first.
- The ramp has three to six steps in all, counting Step Zero.
- The ramp card is where the task lives.
This page comes from Stuck Between Knowing and Doing.
The book walks through when to use it, with examples. It's from Chapter 4.
